Early morning

Part of a series of paintings documenting the walks around my home in the South Downs.

An early morning walk in Summer with my little cavapoo to avoid the hot day ahead. The early morning sun made the edges of the trees and hedges glow. The deep set path, a sunken lane, was once the main road running past Byworth in West Sussex. Nature has reclaimed most of it, leaving a narrow track haunted by foxes and rabbits.
