Up there - Brinksole Heath

Part of a series of paintings documenting the walks around my home in the South Downs.

A footpath on Brinksole Heath, West Sussex. Around the tamed footpath what is hidden watches us pass, our ancestors created monsters and myths from the unseen hiding in the darkness. The trees guard the path, a sanctuary for wildlife, shade in Summer and a guiding archway for walkers.
