Watercolour and pastel on acid free paper

420 x 297 mm (16.5 x 11.7 inch) - framed 564 x 454 mm (22.2 x 17.7 inch)

Part of a series of paintings documenting the walks around my home in the South Downs.

The footpath up to Brinksole between Petworth and Byworth in West Sussex. In the man made landscape, nature reclaims with its chaotic plan. Around the tamed footpath what is hidden watches us pass.

In 2025 the painting was exhibited at The Gallery at Horsham Museum's Summer Exhibition.
