Part of a series of paintings documenting the walks around my home in the South Downs.

The footpath in Brinksole above Petworth in West Sussex. In the man made landscape, nature reclaims with its chaotic plan. Around the tamed footpath what is hidden watches us pass. What is ahead is both innocuous and ominous.
