Seasons

Sometimes I just want to revel in the beauty of light in the seasons. There's always some glimpse that can be forgotten if you are rushing by or looking at your phone. I like to think think about views that I may never see again or chance framing of landscape and buildings.

These paintings focus particularly on the light and / or colour of an accidental view.

 Summer in Italy

watercolour & pastel on paper

A4

A chance view from the car, when stopped in traffic, on the side of the foothills of Trentino. The colours and light were dazzling and I thought how random it was that I saw this view.

Falling - Barlavington Mill

Watercolour & gouache on paper

A4

I was stopped in my tracks by the almost fairytale view of the beautiful house through an autumnal tree. The colours are just starting to turn so this is a moment in time that both happens every year and will never be duplicated.
